Where You May Already Have Heat Pumps In Your Home
What Makes a Heat Pump Work?
The heat pump is a device that contains refrigerant and uses it to transfer heat from one place to another. In its most basic form, it consists of an evaporator, a condenser, and a compressor. The heat pump moves heat by circulating refrigerant through these three parts. You may think of refrigerant for cold uses only, but it can also be heated. The evaporator is located inside the housing, and it absorbs heat from the air. The heat from the air warms the refrigerant, turning it into a gas. The condenser releases that incredible heat where it needs to go, and as the vaporized refrigerant cools, it is changed back into a liquid form. Then the cycle repeats again.Heat Pumps in the Home
